At the start of the year I delved back into this 'verse. I didn't mean for so long to lapse before I posted the next installment, but it took longer to write than anticipated (not to mention other factors such as RL, S10 of Doctor Who and all the meta etc. etc.) Anyway, for my tiny handful of faithful readers - here you are. I hope you enjoy. (Nine chapters, plus prologue & epilogue)

Basically each story in 'Stepping Sideways' is a visit to a different universe/character, allowing the Seeker to be seen with fresh eyes by his nearest and dearest, this time round meeting Roda (luckweaver's OC). Part of my Not the Last 'verse.

For new people - I have my own OC Time Lord and a whole verse centered around him. (He is the Master and Lucy's son and born during TYTNW.) The stories are all meant to stand alone, so please have a look if you like. I'd love you forever. <3

Summary: How do you save people that don't want to be saved?
Setting: Between A Good Day and The Death and Life of Rodageitmososa. (This is AU, but within New Who between Name of the Doctor and The Day of the Doctor.)
Spoilers: A Good Day. But can easily be read on its own.
Rating: PG-13.
Characters: This part: The Third Seeker (OC), Alt!Roda (OC)
Beta: Um... That would be a no. All mistakes mine.
Feedback: Would be amazing. :)
Thank yous: To luckweaver for the loan of Roda, for the collaboration and all the dialogue, and for the gorgeous icon/banner. ♥

Pita, spanakopita, mixed tomato-cheese handpie, olive bread, melomakarona, mango donut peaches, regular peaches, shiro plums, blueberries, yellow sweet cherries, a half-gallon of Mocha Moo, cheese curds, 3 lb of ivory and purple bell peppers , and spicebush (now called 'sorghum', because no one knew was 'spicebush' was) vinegar.

I made blackberry preserves and cut up the fruit for mixed stone fruit jam -- about half sour cherries, the rest plums, nectarines, and donut peaches -- to cook up tomorrow.

As expected, the new Justice League trailer dropped at Comic Con and I absolutely loved it, especially towards the end when we get a better glimpse of the action. At the moment, I think it feels like a really good blend of Whedon's kind of dialogue based apporach and Snyder's epic action which should be insane to watch. And it really seems like something you need to see on the big screen, which is a plus.

The trailer is below and while it does, quite justifyibly, have an initial heavy focus on Wonder Woman, I thought it had a couple of really promising glimpses of Aquaman, Cyborg and Flash in action. Best of all, they all feel epic in what they can do. So here's hoping this movie manages to catch the League of Gods feeling that made JLA so unique.

Anyone out there on the ol' flist have any suggestions for tutorials or books I can read (hopefully from the library) to help me learn how to work with node webkit programming?

I'm a tinkerer and when I say "learn code" I usually mean "make it break in interesting ways until I--nearly accidentally--cobble together something that works".

Specifically what I want to do is this.

I used Twine Wrapper to make an app out of my Twine game.

I can see in the app.js file that it is possible to add, remove, and edit menus and menu items.

I'd like to change the menus so that "Edit" and probably "Window" are hidden (but not disabled, in case people still want to copy & paste...???). Then I want to add a "File" menu with "Redo" and "Undo" as menu items. These items would then have the same functionality as the Undo and Redo arrows/buttons in the Twine game itself.

From looking at the HTML source, I see that these buttons trigger "Engine.goBack" and "Engine.goForward" commands. But how to get a menu item to do that? I don't even know what that is.

For reference, a page like this is way over my head. I am definitely looking for the "For Dummies" end of the tutorial spectrum. To be really, really clear, I am asking to learn how to program, and I don't even know which programming language I'm asking about.

Thank you anyone who can point me in a direction!

I managed to finish the [community profile] pod_together fic last night about 11:00. I haven't posted it yet because it lacks a title. I'm also still hoping to hear back from my partner in the undertaking, but we're not in compatible time zones, so it's difficult.

I also need a tag that I can use for when a character talks to an externalized manifestation of their own psyche in order to hash out a problem. There must be one, right? Any suggestions?

I woke with a migraine this morning. I think it's a multi-factor thing. I slept less last night than I wanted to because Scott took forever (two hours!) getting ready for bed after I was ready to sleep. Then, when he came to bed, he kept doing stuff with his laptop until I asked him why he was still up and still keeping me up. I had some coughing, so I didn't dare use the c-PAP. I was stressed about the story and about the family gathering this afternoon (BIL's birthday), and a number of other things. There's also some indication that my body may be preparing for a period (though I'm skeptical because been spotting off and on since late June. If I didn't already have a gynecology appointment on the 9th, I'd probably have called already to see about setting one up).

The lack of sleep and stress are making me ache. I'm wearing thumb splints today because I can't do what I need to otherwise. I have to wrap the present for our BIL some time in the next half hour (Scott's trying to repair the dryer). We only have Christmas wrapping paper.

What I really want to do is to lie down and nap. There just isn't time.

Picking whether to adopt a Male Maine Coon or Female Maine Coon can be difficult, as both these Maine Coon Cats offer up different traits and Characteristics that make them good pets for the family home. Male Maine Coon cat's are more outgoing and tend to love to play with one particular person they are living with. Female Maine Coon cat's are more calm but get along with more people, or busy households better than their Male Counterparts. When it comes to Male vs Female Maine Coon Cat's the only thing that is important is that you offer them a loving home!
