Thoughts on Trio

Just a couple of belated thoughts on last week's SGA episode "Trio"

1. When Rodney said "Jon Stewart" I'm sure he was thinking "John Sheppard". They do have the same initials. Coincidence? I think NOT! :D

2. Don't get me wrong, I adore Jewel Staite and I like Keller quite a bit. But I just got the feeling through the entire episode that Sam and Rodney could be her parents, for heavens sake.

3. Obviously we all know John and Rodney have bought flatware and matching towels and settled in for the long haul. But on screen? How could I possibly object to Keller having a little bit of a crush on Rodney? I think she's one of US. She saw Rodney under the worst of circumstances, saw all his flaws, and yet she could tell he was a "nice guy". She could tell he is brave and resourceful and loyal and strong and funny and brilliant and likes Jon Stewart and he can build bombs! Also he can hold someone on a rope like nobody's business, and physical exertion does lovely things to his muscles, and he's all hot and sweaty and guh. So in summary: Keller? Good taste, sister.

3A. And of course you realize she's already seen him naked...

If anyone on the new team is over 30, I'll eat my hat. Check out the picture on Joe M.'s latest blog and then read this:

Vega will make her Atlantis debut in the Season Five premiere, "Search and Rescue." According to Mallozzi, she will be commanding her own Atlantis recon team by the fourth episode of the season, "Whispers."

I like the actress, but she looks like she's in HIGH SCHOOL! Yes, that's just who I would want leading a recon team.

As to #4---HEE! She would probably say something to that effect too and then Rodney would get all self-conscious. Oh Rodney, I love you so. ::points at icon::

John: Weren't you even a little bit tempted?
Rodney: Of course not! You know I'd never cheat on you. Plus, how could I? She's seen me naked?
John: Well, isn't that kind of the point, Rodney?
Rodney: There's naked and then there's DOCTOR naked. Those are two very different things.
John: McKay, sometimes you really scare me.

Hmmm....I just realized that I made them sound like Jim and Blair! Oh well.

When Keller was talking about the bar trick, it was like watching my nephew try to explain beer pong to his mother - she got it conceptually but couldn't process that her baby was playing it. And I think Keller's invitation for a beer was somewhere between a crush and a friend thing - I'm not convinced that Ronan isn't still in the background somewhere. I've been enjoying watching her character developed - not sure how much of that is Jewel's acting ability and how much is the writing, but I'll take it as it comes.

Also, is it me or does she have a tattoo on her lower back?

Not just you. I'm sure I saw the tattoo also. She and Ronon could bond over body art!
