And so it begins

*Quiet night in with a friend last night with yummy Chinese food to eat and Kathy Griffin making Anderson Cooper giggle helplessly on the TV.

*Decade, where did you go? Eeeep!

*Watched snatches of the Dr. Who Ten marathon this morning, but it makes me so sad! DT is just *special*; was so lucky to see him at Comic Con last year.

*Finally saw Sherlock Holmes this afternoon. If I hadn't been spending Christmas with my parents I would have seen it Christmas day. Loved it to pieces! More style than substance, but oh what style it is! Hopefully next time they will have a better story, but the characterizations and the look of the whole thing were just perfect. And slash giggles galore were an added bonus. Also I don't know what it is, but I am incapable of taking my eyes off of RDJ's face.

And how was *your* day, sweeties?

He does indeed. I would follow him anywhere!

JoAnn! Except for the Chinese food, we did the same thing on NYE - watching Kathy and Anderson bring in the New Year with a friend. My favorite line -- after Kathy asks Anderson what name he would like to use if he had a real first name instead of 2 last names and Anderson can't come up with anything and says he can't even use his middle name because it is a last name, too (Hays)-- and Kathy says "you reek of money"! She was much tamer this year - I still can't believe what she said last year - I was shocked and laughing so hard at the same time!

We saw Sherlock Holmes last Saturday, and I love it, too. RDJ is one of very few actors I will pay money to see in anything. When I logged onto AOL today they had a link to an interview with RDJ and Jude Law - you can see it here: http://insidemovies.moviefone.com/2009/12/22/sherlock-holmes-cast-video-interviews/

Went with a friend today to see the new Colin Firth movie "A Single Man" - it was wonderful. Besides Colin, whom I've loved for years, I was impressed with Tom Ford's first directorial foray. And just as an aside, Ridge Canipe, who we know as young Dean on SPN, had a very, very small part in the movie, as did Elizabeth Harnois (who appeared with RB in "Point Pleasant" and JA in "Ten Inch Hero").

Anyway, I hope you are feeling better and that you have a very happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!

Hi, Debbie! I didn't see KG and AC last year; sounds like I really missed something. It's just so funny how she just reduces him to very un-anchor-like giggles!

Will add your movie rec to my long list of things I want to see. Actually it's not that long: just Avatar and the George Clooney movie and maybe also the *animated* George Clooney movie. And now I just remembered we actually have some RDJ sitting on the coffee table; we've had the "Chaplin" dvd from Netflix for an embarassing number of months!

More later via email!

The hubby and I just got back from seeing Sherlock for the second time in a week. :-) LOVED IT! Downey and Law have unbelievable chemistry and the ending screams for a sequel, so I hope we'll see this duo again. :-)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The chemistry was amazing, wasn't it? I can't wait for a sequel; I've already spent quite a few hours trying to cast Moriarty in my head, but I'm not coming up with anyone perfect yet. But more importantly---HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! Hope it was a Deanlicious day!

Can you believe that Entertainment Weekly only gave Sherlock a B-?? The reviewer really disliked it! Was he watching with his eyes closed??

Ooh, Moriarity...gotta be someone highly intelligent but creepy at the same time. Hmmm....I need to think about who would be perfect in that role. :-)

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I ended up having a really lovely day. :-)

It's a poster that libraries (and anyone) can buy to encourage kids to read. I love that Watson looks like he's ready to discipline you if you don't read! And Holmes of course just looks yummy.

Oh wow, sweet!! The only problem is I'd be too busy staring at the two of them to actually read a book. ;-)
