keeping my head down

The knives are out again at work. Going to a meeting now. Keeping my head down. No real danger of losing my job in the near future (or hopefully ever!), but expected workplace changes will be stressful. Why are the people in charge never affected by any changes that they implement?

hear, hear. Admin is always the last to get cut or damaged.

And they just love to make decisions that will not affect them in the least but will have significant impact on everyone else.

Dang! I'm glad you're safe but I can never understand why managers don't get how stressful this is even for people who keep their jobs. ::sends good vibes::

I am indeed safe for now. And my supervisor is pretty understanding and reasonable; it's the person that he reports to that is the problem. I swear that person has no emotions at all.

I totally hear you! We got back from Christmas break to an email that said we were cutting 800 jobs! Plus, every department has to cut spending by 10% (be that by budget or salaries); so there was a chance that I would lose my job.

So far, I'm still here!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and you do the same for me. And send that nice Richard Burgi over here to put his hands around *my* neck! That would cheer me up!

Because the extra

work is doled out to those remaining, not to those making the changes. :(

::fingers crossed for you and remember: beautiful men help reduce stress!::

This is actually not a case of more work; it's a case of taking a good service that we offer and turning it into a crappy one. I can't stand that decisions get made by people who have absolutely no direct contact with the people we are supposedly serving.

But my beautiful men have been taken away from me! I miss my John and Rodney!

Oh, God, that's even worse. Especially a Library - it is a Library, right? My memory is going. And God, how I miss those two. But I love watching them late on Friday night (1 and 2 am! That's how addicted I am!) and then again on Sunday night at 11. They may be reruns, but considering the last half of season 5 - I'm seeing the best of the best :) Can't say that about SG1! :(

And there's still the fiction with lovely artwork. :)
