Sunday randomosity

1. I haven't had time to investigate Dreamwidth much at all. But I was lucky enough to get a free invite code in a drawing, so I do have a place set up there now. I took the opportunity to drop the annoying underscore and 99 from my name, so I'll just be plain ole' duffy over there.

2. Watched "I am Legend" the other night. It was half of a really good movie. The other half, not so much.

3. Went to see "State of Play" yesterday. Always think I don't like Russell Crowe until I see him, but then I remember he can act like nobody's business. He just disappeared into the charcter. A nice grown-up movie with great acting all around. Also probably the last movie you'll ever see set at a daily newspaper.

4. Made the mistake of watching the news. "The Stand" has been in the number one spot on my list of all-time favorite books ever since it first came out. I hope I do not have to rethink this...

The Stand

Re: #4, OMG Yes! "The Stand" was the first thing I flashed on when I read all the Swine Flu headlines. My second thought was, 'Oh great. Because Obama needed one *more* thing to deal with right now.' Never mind ongoing wars, economic collapse, threat of terrorism, threat of nuclear escalation, global warming, crumbling infrastructure, pirates(!?!), etc., let's add possible flu pandemic to the pile! I'd ask if anything *else* could go wrong in the world right now, but I'm afraid to hear the answer.

Oh, and Hi! *waves* I can't recall if I've ever posted here before (I tend to lurk), but I enjoy your posts! :)

I had your second thought as well!

*waves back* I always mean to post more, but I just don't get around to it very often. But glad to be enjoyed!
