Holiday Carb-o-Rama
Jan. 2nd, 2006 05:29 pmWhat I did on my Christmas vacation: Started off with a sinus infection, because nothing says "holidays" like antibiotics, right? After that? Let's see. I drove 2800 miles round trip to see my family. Played with my three nieces who are cute and adorable and funny and loud and did I mention *loud*? Was reminded again why I am not sorry I have no children of my own. Much more fun to feed them candy and and wind them up and then drive off into the sunset.
Where was I? Oh yes. Had a lovely family Christmas for the most part. Then proceeded to get the flu. Knocked me for a loop, so still have not seen "Brokeback Mountain" or "King Kong" or anything that I had planned to see. I have however watched some DVD commentaries (which I hardly ever get around to doing) for Stargate Atlantis and Serenity so that's been fun. Also watched "In Search of the Castaways", but that's hard to explain. Haven't felt much like being online, so I know there's a mountain of good stories waiting for me to read and lots of fascinating posts from my flist to peruse. Lots to look forward to! Hopefully will take the sting out of going back to work.
Mostly though I seem to have just been indulging in a huge Holiday Carb-o-Rama. It's been quite the extravaganza, so tomorrw it's back to South Beach. Let the dieting begin. //a mournful tune begins to play//
