drunken librarians in relax-fit jeans
Jun. 30th, 2006 03:23 pmNow that I've got your attention! For those of you who don't know, I was in New Orleans last week for the American Library Association conference. It was the first major convention to go there post-Katrina. It was a very emotional experience, and I've been trying to find a way to publicly express that. But words have failed me, so I'll just pass on this article which does capture a lot of what I felt there. It's a little long, but I ask that you read all the way to the end.

The city still needs our help and they need to not be forgotten. If you see a chance to help, please do so. It's not "fixed" yet.
I don't know why that cut came out twice. Just call me Dr. Fumbles McStupid.
